The unemployment rate in the UK fell to 4.1% in the three months to November 2021, according to official data released on Tuesday.
"The estimates for September to November 2021 show a continuing recovery in the labour market, with a quarterly increase in the employment rate, while the unemployment rate decreased," the Office for National Statistics said.
The unemployment rate was below the market's expectation for 4.2%.
The data also showed the number of employees on payroll went up by 184,000 in December 2021, the most on record, while job vacancies hit a new record of 1.24 million.
The UK employment rate rose 0.2 percentage points on the quarter to 75.5%.
"The number of part-time workers diminished remarkably during the pandemic, but has been increasing since April to June 2021, driving the increase in employment during the latest three-month period," it added.
