Netflix has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated fantasy film, "Damsel," featuring the talented Millie Bobby Brown, has experienced a delay. Originally slated for an October 13, 2023 release, fans will need to exercise a bit of patience as the film is now set to grace our screens in 2024.
But fear not, eager viewers, for a sneak peek of "Damsel" is right around the corner. The teaser trailer is poised to make its debut on November 11.
The film's official synopsis offers a tantalizing glimpse into the storyline: "An obedient damsel accepts the hand of a dashing prince, only to discover that the royal family has conscripted her as a sacrificial offering to settle an ancient debt. Thrown into the depths of a cavern inhabited by a fire-breathing dragon, her survival hinges on her cunning and determination."
Millie Bobby Brown, renowned for her portrayal of Eleven in Netflix's "Stranger Things," which is gearing up for its fifth and final season, takes center stage in "Damsel." She is joined by a stellar cast that includes Nick Robinson of "Jurassic World," Angela Bassett from "Black Panther," and Ray Winstone of "Black Widow" fame.
The delay in the production and release of both "Stranger Things" and "Damsel" can be partially attributed to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood. Speculation had arisen about using AI technology to make the youthful cast appear younger, given the gap between seasons. However, executive producer Shawn Levy has emphatically stated that such technology will not be utilized, as he remains steadfast in his belief in the cast's ability to breathe life into their characters.
