According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, 33,545 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since last October. The ministry's announcement came as the Israeli assault on Gaza reached its 188th day. Additionally, 76,094 Palestinians have been injured in the ongoing offensive.
In the past 24 hours alone, 63 fatalities and 45 injuries were reported at Gaza hospitals due to Israeli aggression, the ministry stated. Many individuals remain trapped under debris and on roads, with rescuers struggling to reach them.
Israel has been bombarding Gaza since a cross-border attack by Hamas, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties, according to Tel Aviv. This sustained warfare has forced 85% of Gaza's population into internal displacement, amidst severe shortages of essential resources like food, water, and medicine. Furthermore, 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been either damaged or demolished, as per UN reports.
Accusations of genocide against Israel have been brought to the International Court of Justice. In January, an interim ruling demanded Tel Aviv cease genocidal actions and ensure humanitarian aid reaches Gaza civilians. Nevertheless, hostilities persist, and the delivery of aid remains insufficient to address the dire humanitarian crisis.
