Francisca Albans, the United Nations' special rapporteur, has reiterated claims of genocide against Palestinians by the Israeli military, highlighting the ongoing violence in northern Gaza. According to reports from Al Jazeera, the extreme brutality inflicted by Israeli forces has sparked concern among international bodies.
Albans stated that Palestinians, particularly in the Jabalia refugee camp, are facing systematic killing at the hands of Israeli soldiers. "We are witnessing yet another massacre in the Jabalia camp," she remarked, noting that civilians are being killed both in groups and individually, with Israeli forces acting as the perpetrators of this alleged genocide.
The UN rapporteur further pointed out that Israel's military actions are enabled by Western support and weaponry, expressing disbelief at the inability to halt these atrocities. "It is astonishing that despite our understanding of the horrors being perpetrated, no effective action has been taken to stop it. Compared to a century ago, we have made little progress," she remarked.
Additionally, the World Food Program, an agency affiliated with the United Nations, has confirmed that no food shipments have reached northern Gaza in the past month, impacting the 400,000 Palestinians living in the region. This lack of assistance is attributed to restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities.
