According to Palestinian sources, at least 53 civilians have been killed in Gaza during a recent wave of violence attributed to Israeli forces. Al Jazeera reports that the Ministry of Health of Palestine has officially announced the latest civilian casualties arising from the ongoing brutality in the region.
The fatalities occurred largely in northern Gaza, where 46 of the deceased were reported to have perished amid intensified attacks in recent days. A statement highlighted an incident in which a school, serving as a temporary shelter for Palestinian refugees—particularly those from West Gaza and the Jabalia camp—was reportedly targeted by Israeli fighters. This assault resulted not only in civilian deaths but also left dozens of Palestinian refugees injured.
The situation has grown increasingly dire over the past 22 days, as northern Gaza has been under a comprehensive siege imposed by Israeli forces. This blockade has restricted the entry of food and essential supplies, leading to extensive destruction of residential areas.
Hospital sources indicate that the total number of Palestinian martyrs in northern Gaza during this period has surpassed 1,000, underscoring the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.
