On Friday, Michal Kwiatkowski, a Polish cyclist from Ineos Grenadiers, emerged as the winner of Stage 13 in the Tour de France.
The stage covered a distance of 137. 8 kilometers (85. 6 miles) from Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne to Mount Grand Colombier. Kwiatkowski, aged 33, completed the stage in an impressive time of three hours, 17 minutes, and 33 seconds.
Maxim Van Gils from Lotto Dstny secured the second position, while Tadej Pogacar from UAE Team Emirates finished third in this stage.
Jonas Vingegaard, the Danish cyclist from Jumbo-Visma, successfully maintained his yellow jersey and continues to lead the general ranking in this year's Tour de France.
Vingegaard's total time after the latest stage stands at 53 hours, 48 minutes, and 50 seconds. Tadej Pogacar has moved up to the second position in the general standings, narrowing the gap against Vingegaard to just nine seconds.
After a brief break, the Tour de France is set to continue on Saturday with a challenging mountain stage covering a distance of 151. 8 kilometers (94. 3 miles).
The stage will take the cyclists from the French town of Annemasse to the Morzine Les Portes du Soleil ski area.
This iconic race, considered the most prestigious in the world of cycling, will conclude on July 23 with Stage 21, culminating on the famous Champs-Elysees in Paris.
