British driver George Russell of Mercedes clinched his second career victory in the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship by winning the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday. The 71-lap race was held on a 4.3-kilometer track in southeastern Austria.
Russell, 26, completed the race in 1:24:22, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri finishing second, just 1.90 seconds behind, and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz taking third place, 4.53 seconds behind Russell.
The race saw a collision between Dutch driver Max Verstappen and British driver Lando Norris.
The next race in the championship will take place at the Silverstone Circuit on July 7.
