In the three-day war between the Palestinians and Israel that began with the Israeli regime's aerial attack on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinians continued to bombard the settlements around the Gaza Strip with rockets until the last moment, and these rockets reached Jerusalem until the end of the battle that lasted for three days.
Israel, which once again committed aggression against the Palestinians with wrong calculations and thought that the Palestinian groups would leave each other alone in front of the Israeli army, after observing the unification of the ranks of the Palestinians and the firing of nearly a thousand missiles and rockets by the Palestinians, Israel reached out to Egypt to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians to announce a ceasefire between the two sides.
The important point in this war was that during these three days, not all Palestinian groups had come to the field and Israel, which sought to destroy them, realized that the continuation of tensions could have disastrous consequences for this regime. The Hebrew newspaper Ha'aretz wrote in this regard, "The Palestinians were able to deliver their rockets to our settlements in just a few days of conflict."
One of Israel's measures in this 3-day war to hit the Palestinians was to activate the policy of terror. On the first day of the airstrikes targeting a residential complex, Israel killed a Palestinian commander, hoping to weaken the morale of the Palestinians, on contrary the strength and military morale of the Palestinians not only did not decrease, rather it strengthened and finally forced Israel to retreat.
Many Israeli experts and media considered the entry of "Yair Lapid", the prime minister of Israel at the time, into the war with Gaza as a foolish action and emphasized that the scenes of the Israelis fleeing to shelters and the panic created among them after the alarm sirens sounded due to the firing of Palestinian rockets, once again shook the trust of the Israeli settlers in their politicians, cabinet and army.
As much as it had many negative consequences for Israel, this war brought many achievements for the Palestinians, the most important of which was the unification of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Shortly after the announcement of a ceasefire in the 3-day war in Gaza, the Palestinians in the Jenin camp in the West Bank raised a voice in defense of Gaza and its people. This issue showed that Israel's efforts to separate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip have failed and the Palestinians are united throughout the occupied territories.
Israel, seeing that in this short period of time, Palestinian rockets reached Ashdod, Ashkelon and even Jerusalem and caused great fear and panic among the settlers, preferred to end this war quickly under the pressure of public opinion and the fear of being unable to deal with Palestinian attacks.
This is despite the fact that, unlike the 12-day war of May 2021, when the Arab regimes at least supported Israel against the Palestinians with their silence, this time even countries like Saudi Arabia, which are seeking a compromise with Israel, also condemned these aggressions and supported the Palestinians.
In this war, Israel was very worried about two things, one is the entry of all Palestinian groups into the war and the other is the entry of Lebanon's Hezbollah. The leaders of Israel knew very well that if the war reached this stage, no one could determine a time for its end or the consequences of it, especially since the Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah had previously warned Israel about any aggression against Lebanon and publicly threatened them with war.
In a speech, he also warned Israel about the aggression against the Palestinians. While announcing his support for the Palestinians, he emphasized that he will not leave the slightest aggression against Palestinians in Lebanon unanswered, that led Israel to find out a way out of war with the Gaza Strip, in addition to the consequences mentioned above, it can also open a new front of conflict with Lebanon and undermine the efforts of Washington and Tel Aviv in curbing the threats to Lebanon.
