According to the survey, President Biden's approval rating stands at 40%, which is consistent with the rating of 38% from Emerson's poll in May. According to Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling, the hearings held on January 6th have revealed a divide in terms of their impact on support for former President Trump. Among those with a college degree or less, 33% responded that they are less likely to vote for Trump as a result of the hearings. On the other hand, among those with a postgraduate degree, 51% stated that they are less likely to vote for Trump due to the hearings. This indicates that there is an educational divide in how the hearings have influenced support for Trump.
In the 2020 presidential election, President Biden secured the popular vote with 51% of the votes, while former President Trump received 47%. However, it is important to note that Trump falsely claimed that the election was fraudulent, which led to protests, including the well-known Capitol riot on January 6th. It is worth mentioning that these claims made by Trump have been thoroughly debunked and proven to be false.
According to the poll, 64% of Democrats believe that President Biden should be the Democratic nominee for the presidency in 2024. On the other hand, Republicans showed less inclination to support former President Trump as the nominee for 2024, with 55% favoring Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, 20% supporting Trump, and only 5% backing former Vice President Mike Pence.
