The Yemeni Houthi group announced on Tuesday that it had launched a significant barrage of drones and missiles towards Israel in response to Israel's recent actions in the Gaza Strip.
Yahya Saree, the group's spokesperson, stated, "Our armed forces unleashed a substantial number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones targeting various locations belonging to the Israeli enemy."
The Houthi group has also issued a warning, promising to continue launching missiles and drones at Israel if Israel persists with its military campaign in Gaza.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli military reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a surface-to-surface missile that had been fired from the Red Sea region. In addition, Israeli fighter jets were able to neutralize what they described as "hostile targets" believed to be drones in the Red Sea.
Israel has intensified its aerial and ground operations in the Gaza Strip, which has been under constant airstrikes since a surprise offensive by the Palestinian group, Hamas, on October 7.
The conflict has resulted in a tragic toll, with more than 10,000 casualties since its outset, including 8,525 Palestinians and 1,538 Israelis.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected growing calls for a ceasefire, asserting that it would equate to a "surrender" to Hamas.
Furthermore, an Israeli blockade has severed Gaza from essential supplies such as fuel, electricity, and water. Reduced aid deliveries are unable to meet the needs of over 2 million residents in the coastal enclave.
