On Tuesday, Hamas, the Palestinian resistance group, reported a significant development in the ongoing conflict, asserting that they successfully eliminated 10 Israeli soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip. The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the operation, highlighting that their fighters carried out the attack at close range in eastern Khan Younis.
In addition to the reported casualties, the group detailed successful strikes on three Israeli tanks, two personnel carriers, and three military bulldozers using anti-armor shells in the eastern and northern regions of Khan Younis. Notably, the Israeli army has not issued any official comments in response to these claims.
The resumption of air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip by Israel last Friday marked the end of a weeklong humanitarian pause with Hamas. Since the initiation of a massive military campaign by Israel in response to a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, the conflict has taken a heavy toll on the Palestinian side. According to Gaza's health authorities, at least 15,899 Palestinians have lost their lives, and over 42,000 have been injured. Official figures state that the Israeli death toll in response to the Hamas attack stands at 1,200.
