Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it will expand the use of its AI-powered tool for cybersecurity experts starting on April 1 and switch to a "pay-as-you-go" model for the assistant.
"Security Copilot," which was soft-launched last year, enables analysts to do queries using a straightforward prompt box to assist with duties like compiling event summaries, identifying vulnerabilities, and exchanging information with colleagues on a pinboard.
General availability indicates that from April 1, 2024, Copilot for Security will be accessible globally. With a multilingual interface supporting 25 languages, Copilot can interpret cues and answer in eight different languages, making it suitable for use in the main regions of Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Europe.
Over 100 partners, including independent software manufacturers and managed security service providers, make up Copilot's extensive worldwide ecosystem. We sincerely appreciate our partners' ongoing contributions, which enable everyone to confidently embrace responsible and safe AI use.
According to a Microsoft representative speaking at a San Francisco event, the technology is currently being used by about 300 customers.
Because it "wanted to reduce the barriers of entry," Microsoft Corporate Vice President Vasu Jakkaltold reporters that the tech giant intends to charge users based on how much they use the software rather than on a subscription basis.
