Malaysian police said on Friday that a man suspected of being an Israeli spy agent and in possession of many firearms had been taken into custody at a Kuala Lumpur hotel.
The man, whose French passport allowed him entry into the nation, was found to have six weapons and two hundred rounds.
Inspector-General of Police According to Razarudin Husain, a team from the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department and Bukit Aman police headquarters apprehended the 36-year-old male on March 27.
"Our investigations revealed that the individual used a French passport to enter. The suspect subsequently turned over an Israeli passport after more inquiry, he continued.
He informed reporters on March that "the suspect claims that he entered the country to hunt down and kill a fellow Israeli over a family dispute."
“We are not taking him at his word and do not rule out the possibility of him having another agenda,” said Tan Sri Razarudin, adding that police investigations were focused on the possibility that the suspect is an Israeli intelligence agent.
