One of the biggest Powerball jackpots ever, $935 million, missed winner on Saturday night, raising the payout for the draw the following week.
According to Powerball's website, nobody possessed the winning numbers 12, 13, 33, 50, 52, and the Powerball 23.
The anticipated prize for the upcoming drawing, which is scheduled for Monday, is currently $975 million.
Since the last Powerball winner struck the jackpot on New Year's Day 2024, the prize has been gradually increasing and is currently the fifth largest in the history of the game, according to lottery officials.
If there is a single winner on Monday, the ticket holder can choose to accept it in a single lump sum, with the prize carrying a cash value of about $471.7 million, lottery officials said.
To secure the prize, the winner or winners must beat a one in 292.2 million chance and match the correct six numbers on a $2 ticket. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Saturday purse was significantly smaller than the greatest single lottery prize amount in American history as well as the $1.13 billion jackpot won this week in a Mega Millions drawing, another lottery.
That occurred in November 2022 when a single California ticket holder won the $2.04 billion Powerball prize.
