Over 400 dead bodies recovered from Al-Shifa Complex

Since the Israeli forces left the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surrounds in western Gaza and Khan Yunis, 409 dead bodies have been found, according to a Tuesday announcement from the Gaza Civil Defense. Work is still being done to retrieve more dead bodies.  

"The General Directorate of Civil Defense is continuing its recovery efforts to retrieve the bodies from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings, as well as Khan Yunis Governorate, in the aftermath of the Israeli forces’ withdrawal from both areas,” stated Major Mahmoud Basal, the Civil Defensespokesman.  

He made a plea to the international community and the appropriate authorities to supply and import machinery and specialized equipment to help recover the dead bodies from under the rubble of destroyed homes. 

This comes in light of the large number of reports received by the teams from local families about the disappearance of their sons during the presence of the Israeli forces, with dozens of bodies still buried under the rubble of Al-Shifa Medical Complex.
