The challenging terrain surrounding Kathmandu airport, nestled amidst hills, has long been known to pose difficulties during landings. Notably, in 1992, a tragic incident occurred when a Pakistan International Airlines airplane crashed into a hill during a landing attempt, resulting in the loss of all 167 individuals on board.
As details continue to emerge, authorities and emergency responders are working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all those affected by the devastating crash.
