Russia has announced that its air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 39 Ukrainian drones over several regions along the border with Ukraine.
According to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, 19 drones were downed over the Kursk region, while nine and five drones were intercepted over the Belgorod and Bryansk regions, respectively. Additionally, three drones were downed over the Leningrad and Voronezh regions.
The falling debris from the downed drones reportedly caused damage to infrastructure in several areas, including a road bridge in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region and power lines in the Solntsevsky district.
However, local authorities in Belgorod, Bryansk, and Leningrad reported no casualties or damage.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on Russia's claims.
