Lebanon's Ministry of Health has confirmed that nine individuals have lost their lives, and more than 300 others sustained injuries in a series of explosions that occurred today across the country. According to reports from Al Jazeera, the blasts were linked to the detonation of wireless devices.
Sources indicate that the explosive devices, identified as "ICOM V82" models, were reportedly modified by operatives associated with Mossad to function like exploding pagers. Additionally, there have been accounts of mobile phones, laptops, and computers also malfunctioning and causing explosions.
As a result of these incidents, fires broke out in various residential areas and vehicles throughout Lebanon, prompting local media to release photographs depicting the aftermath. Health and rescue organizations in Lebanon are on high alert, working diligently to transport the injured to medical facilities.
Local reports have highlighted that explosions of pager devices occurred in Beirut, Baalbek, and other cities, resulting in numerous injuries among Lebanese citizens. The incidents follow a prior explosion claimed by sources linked to Hezbollah that took place on Tuesday, where it was reported that pager devices used by members of Hezbollah's various units had detonated around 3:30 PM.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that the earlier explosions resulted in 12 fatalities and approximately 2,800 injuries attributed to this criminal act. Hezbollah has since released a statement indicating that the actions of the Israeli government will strengthen the resolve of resistance forces, declaring that the occupying regime will face severe repercussions for its actions.
