The spokesperson for the Russian presidential office announced today that relations between Berlin and Moscow have nearly reached a standstill.
According to the RIA Novosti news agency, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, issued a statement on Wednesday indicating that Berlin has not made any requests to Moscow regarding a phone conversation between President Putin and Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In his statement, Peskov remarked, "Relations between Berlin and Moscow have almost reached zero, and this situation has not been instigated by Russia." He further noted that there are currently no common topics for discussion between the two capitals, although President Putin has always been open to dialogue.
The Kremlin's statement also mentioned that there has been no communication between Putin and Scholz since their last conversation in 2022, emphasizing that any future contact would depend on Germany's position.
