World-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has pledged to use his music and voice as instruments for promoting global peace. Speaking to reporters in Istanbul on Saturday, Bocelli expressed his belief in the profound impact of music on the human soul. He stated, “If my voice and my music can contribute to the improvement of the current global conditions, I am blessed.”
Bocelli, known for his fusion of opera and pop music, further emphasized his willingness to sacrifice his voice for the cause of peace. He described war as humanity’s greatest mistake, highlighting its horrors and the need for respect and understanding among different faiths.
The acclaimed opera singer, who has sold millions of records worldwide and performed duets with artists like Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez, shared his respect for all religions. He said, "If there is one God, He is the God of all of us. Everyone may address Him by a different name and worship in their own way, but we all believe in the oneness of God.”
Bocelli also stressed the importance of respecting other faiths and quoted an Italian journalist, saying, “Revenge can sometimes relieve your mind, but it carries much heavier consequences than forgiveness.”
Fans can look forward to experiencing Bocelli’s enchanting voice live at the Besiktas Dolmabahce Stadium on June 8, 2024. The event, organized by BWO Entertainment, CEO Event, and Dolmabahce Stock Companies, promises to be a memorable one.
