A Turkish man has given his wife a truly out-of-this-world gift to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Aycan Cagdas Sikar, who works in the service sector, found a meteorite in an empty field and had it analyzed by the Department of Geological Engineering at the Middle East Technical University (METU). The analysis confirmed that the stone was indeed a meteorite.
Sikar wanted to give his wife, Cicek, a special gift on their anniversary, so he asked his designer friend, Cagri Yilmaz, to create a ring from the meteorite. Yilmaz designed a stunning solitaire ring made from the meteorite, which was a unique experience for him as he had never worked with a meteorite before.
The ring was not only aesthetically pleasing but also came with a fascinating story. Sikar told Anadolu that he wanted to celebrate their 20th year in an unforgettable way, and the ring turned out to be exactly that. Yilmaz, who has been working with diamonds for years, said that it was quite difficult to cut the meteorite due to its challenging composition, but it was worth the effort.
