Sweden shutout Belgium 1-0 on Friday in the UEFA Women's European Football Championship (EURO 2022) to advance to the semifinals next week.
Defender Linda Sembrant, 35, scored the winning goal in minute 92 of the quarterfinal match, firing in the penalty area to beat Belgian goalkeeper Nicky Evrard at Leigh Sports Village.
Sembrant’s goal lifted Sweden to the EURO 2022 semifinals where they will play the tournament's host nation England on Tuesday.
Belgium was eliminated but Evrard was named Player of the Match for coming up with seven saves.
France will take on the Netherlands on Saturday in a quarterfinal match in Rotherham.
The winner will face Germany on Wednesday.
The EURO 2022 final will be held Sunday, July 31.
