Sevilla took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal from Youssef En-Nesyri. However, Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer equalized in the 63rd minute.
In the penalty shootout, Manchester City scored all five of their attempts, while Sevilla missed their fifth, handing the victory to Manchester City.
The win marks Manchester City’s first UEFA Super Cup title, while Sevilla, last season’s UEFA Europa League champions, missed out on their second trophy.
The UEFA Super Cup is an annual match played between the winners of the previous season’s UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Manchester City, as the 2023 UEFA Champions League winners, claimed their maiden title in this prestigious competition.
