The price of Bitcoin surged to a fresh all-time high of $71,500 on Monday, marking a 2.7% daily increase.
Having closed the previous week near $69,000, the leading cryptocurrency surpassed the $71,000 mark, currently hovering around $71,550 as of 11:30 a.m. (GMT0830).
Bitcoin's ascent has been ongoing since mid-January, coinciding with the US Securities and Exchange Commission's decision to permit spot Bitcoin ETFs, allowing investors to engage in Bitcoin trading without direct ownership.
According to data from coinmarketcap, Bitcoin's market capitalization has surged to $1.4 trillion, while its 24-hour transaction volume stands at $47 billion as of GMT0830.
