The Palestine Red Crescent Society released a new audio recording on Sunday, documenting the harrowing moments experienced by six-year-old Hind Rajab while trapped alone amidst Israeli tanks and the lifeless bodies of her relatives, who fell victim to Israeli soldiers.
"They are dead. The tank is next to me. It is moving from the front of the car," Hind conveyed to a Red Crescent staffer over the phone.
In a state of terror, she urgently added, "The tank is very close. Please, stay with me when someone comes. You can hang up, okay?"
Tragically, Hind met her demise alone, as the Israeli occupation forces bombed the ambulance en route to her rescue, just meters away, resulting in the fatalities of Red Crescent paramedics Yousef Zaino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun.
Among the unforgettable narratives etched in the world's consciousness is that of Hind Rajab—a child who had not yet seen her seventh year before being besieged by death from all sides.
However, the quest for accountability regarding her tragic fate remains unanswered.
Hind implored Red Crescent officials to extricate her from the vehicle she was trapped in with her deceased relatives, all of whom had fallen to Israeli army gunfire.
Despite the ambulance crew's efforts, they were thwarted by the intense gunfire and targeted attacks by the Israeli military on any moving object.
For three agonizing hours, she remained on the line with Red Crescent teams, expressing her profound fear.
On February 12, several days after her desperate plea, an ambulance team discovered Hind's lifeless body. She had passed away on the same day she made her plea, alongside the two paramedics who had endeavored to rescue her.
