Swiss President Viola Amherd expressed her commitment to ensuring broad participation in the upcoming Ukraine peace conference, which will take place on June 15-16 at the Burgenstock Hotel in Switzerland. The conference aims to bring together world leaders to build on Ukraine's 10-point peace plan and promote dialogue.
So far, over 50 countries have confirmed their participation, including countries from Europe, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. China has not yet confirmed, but Amherd expressed optimism that it may still participate. The conference has also received support from Germany, France, Italy, and Canada.
Notably, Russia was not invited to the conference, and the Kremlin has expressed skepticism about its potential outcomes due to Moscow's exclusion. The Swiss President emphasized that the conference aims to promote dialogue and find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, based on the principles of the UN Charter.
