It seems that the Americans are still dreaming of forming a "new Middle East" because they are trying to implement this plan now in the form of the "NOPEC" plan, this time targeting Iraq in the region.
NOPEC is a bill passed by the US House Judiciary Committee on May 5 and is awaiting approval in the Senate, Congress and finally the signature of the US President Joe Biden.
The bill not only worries Iraqis, but economic experts have strongly warned of the dangerous consequences of NOPEC on Iraq's economy, especially its oil, calling it a blatant US robbery of Iraq's oil revenues and a guarantee of Washington's practical dominance in managing Iraq's oil production.
Claim to replace Saudi oil with Iraqi oil
Among them, however, are minorities who support the plan, which aims to remove Saudi Arabia from the US oil market and replace it with Iraq as punishment for Saudi Arabia for disobeying Washington.
NOPEC; No to OPEC or domination of the Iraqi economy
According to experts, given Iraq's oil-based one-product economy, the United States has found that it can use Iraqi oil better in its policies than Saudi Arabia, to control global oil prices and replace the Saudis with safe alternatives.
The NOPEC option came after the relative straining of relations between Washington and Riyadh due to Saudi opposition to increasing OPEC production. The United States has called for a reduction in world oil prices, something that Saudi Arabia has so far opposed, and has put Washington-Riyadh relations to the test.
Since the beginning of the Ukraine war, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, two countries that have surplus production and can inject it into the market, have refused to sell their surplus to Europe and the United States, boosting Western demand for Iraqi oil.
Reports also show that Iraq has been able to overtake Saudi Arabia in oil exports to the United States, while previously Iraqi oil exports to the United States accounted for only 6% of US oil imports.
Hence, some Iraqi factions are secretly promoting the positive revenue of the NOPEC bill, calling it a turning point in the Iraqi economy and a link between the collapsed Iraqi economy and the United States as one of the world's largest economies.
Warning about the consequences of NOPEC in the region
The important point in the NOPEC plan is that the consequences of this plan are not limited to Iraq. Although NOPEC cannot affect large producing countries such as Russia and Iran, the Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will be affected by this bill.
Experts say that although Iraq has tens of billions of dollars in assets and $ 24 billion in financial assets in the United States, but the country's oil revenues are under the control of the US Federal Reserve, so before it reaches the Iraqi Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, it will be affected if NOPEC approves.
On the other hand, the plan, with its opponents and supporters, not only will it perpetuate political crises and differences in macro-state decisions in Iraq, but will intensify the systematic unrest that has plagued Iraq since the summer of 2014.
Furthermore, the passage of this bill for a country like Iraq, which suffers from a fragile single-product economy, is seen as a pretext to accelerate the implementation of projects such as the "New East" and "normalize relations with the Zionist regime" through more severe economic pressures.
The difference is that this time the pressure will not only include Iraq, but also Saudi Arabia, a country that has survived the developments of the "Arab Spring", which has involved many countries in the region in an organized and pre-planned way since 2011.
Let's keep in mind:
- Secret documents and maps leaked about the "Arab revolutions" showed that what is now called Saudi Arabia should be divided into three parts.
- Chaos in Iraq is an organized and pre-planned.
- The Saudis continue to evade formal normalization of relations with the Zionist regime.
- The Saudis have refused to supply oil to the US and have aligned themselves with OPEC policies.
- The plan to divide Syria has failed, and the war has come at a great cost to the Americans.
- Despite the normalization of relations with Arab countries and all the efforts made, the Zionist regime is facing severe existential crises.
All of this leads the Americans to use every opportunity to save themselves and the Zionist regime in implementing their plans.
