The Palestinian government’s media office reported on Tuesday that the death toll from the relentless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has escalated to 11,320 individuals. The victims tragically include 4,650 children and 3,145 women. In addition, 29,200 others have been injured in the conflict.
The statement further revealed that 3,600 people, including 1,755 children, are still missing. The assaults have also claimed the lives of 198 medical personnel, 22 civil defense staff, and 51 journalists.
The Israeli offensive has had a devastating impact on the healthcare infrastructure in the region. It has forced 25 hospitals and 52 healthcare centers to cease operations, while 55 ambulances have been targeted by Israeli forces.
The media office disclosed that 40 patients have died in the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City in the past five days due to an Israeli siege and fuel shortage. Furthermore, 82 individuals were buried in a mass grave within the medical complex due to the ongoing siege of the hospital by Israeli forces.
Israel has been launching incessant air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7. The offensive has resulted in the damage or destruction of thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches.
Meanwhile, the Israeli death toll stands at 1,200, as per official figures.
