A former Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, strongly reacted during an interview with Sky News when questioned about the potential impact on Gaza civilians due to Israel's response to Hamas's attack.
Bennett dismissed the focus on Palestinian civilians, stating, "Are you seriously — keep asking me about Palestinian civilians? What is wrong with you? Have you not seen what’s happened? We’re fighting Nazis."
He insisted that Israel does not intentionally target civilians in Gaza and criticized the suggestion of providing them with electricity, saying, "I’m not going to feed electricity to my enemies."
Sky News presenter Kamali Melbourne interrupted Bennett, telling him, “This is my program and I am asking the questions.”
“Yeah, but this is my country,” Bennett responded, pointing his finger at the camera and accusing Melbourne of trying to shape a narrative sympathetic to Palestinians.
The exchange became heated, with Bennett expressing his disapproval by saying, "Shame on you."
The context involves Israel cutting off supplies, including food, water, fuel, and medicine, to Gaza in response to a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7.
