US President Joe Biden stated on Thursday that a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip is completely out of the question. When asked about the possibility of a cease-fire as he was leaving the White House for a trip to Illinois, Biden firmly responded, "None. No possibility."
When asked if he has any update on getting hostages out, Biden said he is "still optimistic."
"We’re not going to stop until we get them out," he said when asked about his message to families of hostages.
These comments followed an earlier announcement by National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, revealing that Israel has agreed to implement four-hour daily humanitarian pauses in the northern parts of Gaza. These brief breaks will facilitate the movement of humanitarian aid into these areas and enable Palestinians to move to safer locations.
According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, the conflict that began on October 7 has resulted in the deaths of more than 10,000 civilians, including over 4,400 children. This conflict commenced with a cross-border attack by Hamas that led to the deaths of more than 1,400 individuals in Israel.
