On Sunday, Russia asserted its control over a village in Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
In an announcement made via Telegram, the Russian Defense Ministry declared that its troops had seized control of the village of Myrne, situated approximately 81 kilometers (50 miles) from the city of Zaporizhzhia.
Additionally, the statement reported that Russian forces successfully thwarted an assault by the Ukrainian military near the village of Vodiane in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
As of now, Ukrainian authorities have refrained from providing any official response or commentary regarding these assertions made by Russia.
