Global crude steel production rose 3.7% from a year ago in February, according to World Steel Association (worldsteel) data released on Friday.
The steel production for the 71 countries reporting to worldsteel amounted to 148.8 million in February.
The world's number one steel producer China saw a 3.5% hike in its February figure of 81.2 million tons.
India's steel production grew 11.4% to 11.8 million tons last month, while Japan's steel output edged up 1.1% to 7 million tons.
On the other hand, the US produced 6.5 tons of crude steel in February, going down by 1.2% at an annualized pace and Russia is estimated to have produced 5.7 million tons this October, falling 4.4% year-on-year.
Türkiye, the world's seventh-largest crude steel producer, posted a 46.6% annual increase in crude steel production to 3.1 million tons in February.
