Donald Trump Jr., the son of former US President Donald Trump, has mocked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 US presidential race. In a humorous post on Twitter, Trump Jr. shared a cartoon showing Biden's cell phone screen after announcing his withdrawal, with numerous missed calls and text messages from Zelensky expressing concern about the potential loss of financial support.
The post refers to the ongoing financial support provided by Western allies, led by the United States, to Ukraine since the start of the war in February 2022. Zelensky has been reliant on these handouts to continue his country's resistance against Russia.
Trump Jr.'s post also comes after Biden announced his support for Kamala Harris as the new presidential candidate of the Democratic Party. Trump Jr. has dismissed Harris as "practically the same" as Biden, arguing that she shares his leftist political record and is even more liberal and less competent than him.
In another post, Trump Jr. criticized Harris' handling of the US-Mexico border, claiming that her policies have led to a surge in illegal immigration into the country.
