Major European markets closed Tuesday in negative territory, except for Spain with a slight rise.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, lost 1.24 points, or 0.28%, to end the day at 442.88.
The UK’s FTSE 100 index was down 9.29, or 0.12%, to 7,598.93 points.
Germany’s DAX 30 dropped 0.66%, or 97.19 points, to 14,556.62, while France’s CAC 40 decreased 0.74%, or 48.43 points, to 6,500.35.
Italy’s FTSE MIB fell by 199.48 points, or 0.81%, to 24,366.19.
Spain’s IBEX 35 was the only index posting an increase, up 5.3 points, or 0.06%, to end the day at 8,841.60.
