US President Joe Biden on Monday postponed a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg after having a multi-day root canal.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday along with a White House reception for senior diplomats.
“The President’s bilateral meeting with Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the White House reception for Chiefs of Mission will be moved to tomorrow," the White House told reporters in a statement.
Biden’s surgery was revealed hours earlier Monday morning by the White House doctor. Dr. Kevin O’Connor said Biden felt tooth pain on Sunday, and had the first part of the procedure that day after an X-ray showed he needed a tooth removal.
The White House also said Biden would not go to an event honoring the women’s and men’s NCAA Championship teams. Vice President Kamala Harris took over that event in Biden’s place.
