The Yemeni Houthi group issued a stern warning on Saturday, cautioning that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could escalate if the US persists in supporting Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. Houthi spokesman Mohamed Abdulsalam, quoted by the pro-Houthi Al-Masirah channel, stated that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken must understand that the scope of the conflict will expand if the US continues to allow Israel to perpetrate genocide in Gaza.
Abdulsalam called on Arabs to stand with the Palestinians in Gaza in their fight for their legitimate rights. Concurrently, Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Houthis, pledged to continue launching missiles and drones towards Israel. The Houthi group has announced the launch of several missiles and drones towards Israel in recent days.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army reported that its air defense systems had intercepted a surface-to-surface missile launched from the Red Sea area. The Israeli army has intensified its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under constant airstrikes since the unexpected offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.
Salama Marouf, the head of the Gaza Media Office, reported at a news conference that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has reached 9,500, including 3,900 children and 2,509 women.
